Here it is the fourth of July weekend, and I am looking for “other than the norm” stuff to do. It has been so long since I have gone to an outdoor barbeque that if I did attend one it just might prove to be a bit overwhelming! The closest family members are a little more than two hours away and I just don’t want to get caught in all that traffic that is being predicted! Folks I don’t want to sound like a ‘Debbie Downer”, but have you ever just had those days whereby doing absolutely nothing seemed more pleasurable than doing what could be both pleasurable and beneficial to yourself and others? And so, I ponder. What can I do? Ohhhhh, I know….
Ø Clean and sanitize the bathroom and kitchen…No!
Ø Clean out the closets, rearranging clothes and shoes according to color…No!
Ø Sweep off the porch and carport and pressure wash them both…No!
Ø Go shopping and buy a new pair of shoes or a dress…No!
Ø Go and get a manicure or a pedicure or both…No!
Ø Call my husband on his cell phone and listen to him breathe…No!!!!
Ø Go take a walk around the neighborhood and hope I don’t run into that dog that is supposed to be behind a fence or at least chained and I have to flee or fight…Ah no!
Ø Go to the commissary and get all the fixings for a barbeque, cook, and eat myself into oblivion…LOL…NO! NO! NO!
Ø Watch the discovery+ channel, specifically HGTV…especially “If These Walls Could Talk” …I love history…. Maybe!
Ø Curl up on the couch with a good book and escape…go to another place if just for a little while and eat chips and have a little chocolate and a zero-calorie drink to wash it down…okay I know I ought to be ashamed even considering the zero cal…go big or go home, right? LOL…Maybe!!
Well, I guess I have covered all the bases and just thinking of what to do has tuckered me out. I guess the most satisfying, and gratifying thing to do right now is go take one of those good old fashioned “Garfield” naps. I don’t intend to wake up until I am done! Have a great weekend ya’ll!
